Description

Seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the funding processes and ensure regulatory compliance for federal and state grant programs aimed at combating homelessness. This role involves comprehensive research, analysis, and synthesis of information to formulate best-practice recommendations for various government initiatives. The successful candidate will also be responsible for generating reports and delivering presentations on their findings and strategic suggestions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages state and federal grants related to addressing homelessness ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines, and develops policies and procedures for systems and projects that address homelessness, particularly Continuum of Care (CoC) grant funding.

  • The position will include coordinating with department heads, community-based homeless service providers, and County management staff on special projects/programs, and assisting strategic plan development and implementation.

  • Manages departmental grant information including coordination and monitoring of grant funded projects and expenditures and develops policies and procedures for grant management and compliance including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.

  • Monitors proposed legislation in federal and state government for items that may impact homeless services in Lee County.

  • Serves as a liaison for addressing high-level issues and tasks that involve multiple municipalities, nonprofit agencies, and other organizations to achieve the desired objectives; develops quality relationships with outside agencies; participates in regional committees representing the CoC and the interests of Board of County Commissioners at various meetings.

  • Researches and prepares applications for grant opportunities; manages departmental grant information including coordination, monitoring, and reporting of grant-funded projects.

  • Ensures compliance with environmental review requirements for federal and state grants from multiple funders.

  • Supports Administration in research, analysis, development, and oversight of legislative priorities, communicates and advises regarding legislation status.

  • Performs related work as assigned.

Education, Experience, Licensing

  • Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, legal studies, or closely related field and two years of human services, public administration, or closely related experience.

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record is preferred.

Supplemental Information

  • Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
