Currently 34+6 and haven’t had the issue so far yet but the last two days my feet have been so swollen. Today it’s super bad I can’t fell my toes and the rest of my feet feel like they’re asleep (pin pricks). It is hot here, around 80-85°, I’ve eaten more salt than usual lately (crab then Mexican for dinner the last two nights) but my BP is normal and no other concerns. Friends and family are telling me to go to the ER. Thoughts??

it’s always good to get checked if you’re concerned - it can’t hurt. My feet swelled bad overnight with my first pregnancy and weather was around the same as it was summer. I did not have pre-e but took my BP everyday to be safe! Here’s a before/after of my feet. Unfortunately that’s just my body in pregnancy

@FTM524,
yes, for me it was definitely the heat! it’s still pretty cold near me (i’m in the northeast) but my first pregnancy she was born in september and around july i started to swell, those birkenstocks didn’t fit me by the end either and barely fit then i was stuffing my feet in crocs

mines just started to swell like literally 48 hours ago. I’m over it already, they hurt but not super painful.

Mine just started to swell about a week ago. Initially my right side was swelling a lot more than my left so my doctor did send me to get checked in labor & delivery for blood clots and pre-e. Thankfully both were negative so they chalked it up to normal pregnancy and said it may just be baby favoring one side over the other. The last two days though it’s been both feet and ankles like balloons. I’m in TN so the weather is starting to get more humid which I’m sure isn’t helping. I’m also a teacher so on my feet a good amount of the day. Hasn’t been a fun new symptom!

My feet were like this during my last pregnancy! Never had a problem with blood pressure. Epsom salt soaks helped a little with the discomfort.

As long as your BP is good then it’s probably normal pregnancy swelling. I wouldn’t go to the ER but maybe call or request appt with OB to be safe.

I have to wear compression stockings even in the heat. My feet still swell, but it’s a lot more manageable when I wear the stockings and elevate my feet when I can.

This is my 3rd and mine do this every time. Drink water, try to keep your feet up. It’s a very unfortunate but mostly common part of the last few weeks of pregnancy. If it’s your hands or face that can be more concerning and should get checked.

Mine are swollen too and have been for weeks. My BP is always good, though. Ob jus said compression socks and elevate feet.
