This November the C+B team wants to bring cozy feels into your home. Read below our favorite fall home recipes to do just that.

Not cooking the big meal this Thanksgiving? Not a problem! No cooking necessary this year to fill your home with holiday scents. Simmer Pots use natural ingredients to freshen and fill your home with lovely scents. Below are some of our favorite autumn DIY recipes for you to try!


If you’re all about pumpkin spice

1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot

2. Add in 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 pieces of ginger, 2 tsp of nutmeg

3. Then just let it simmer! Continue to regularly check on the water to make sure there is enough


Apple Cider Obsessed

The necessary drink we are all sipping through the fall months.

1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot

2. Add 3 red apple peels, 3 cinnamon sticks, 3 large cloves

3. Lower heat and check back every so often on the water


The classic, colorful Cranberry

It’s not Thanksgiving without cranberries!

1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot.

2. Add 3 orange slices, 3 lemon slices, dash of nutmeg, 1 tsp of cloves, large handful of cranberries

3. Continue to let it simmer, adding water every 30 minutes or so

Can I Keep My Pumpkins?

Prolong the life of your beautiful pumpkin decor for just one more month with this C+B recipe!

1.Mix a solution of 1 tbsp of No. 001 per quart of water or grab your All The Things

2. Soak a cloth in the mixture, or spray your All The Things directly onto the pumpkin

3. Use the cloth to wipe away bacteria and dirt, which will prevent your pumpkin from growing mold as quickly


Thanksgiving Oven Ready

Let’s be real, you use your oven the most during the holiday season. Let’s get it ready with this recipe!

1. Combine ¼ cup No. 001, ¼ cup vinegar, 1 tablespoon baking soda into a bowl and mix well

2. Transfer mixture into a spray bottle or simply pour onto the oven surface. *you can also use All The Things & simply add your vinegar & baking soda separately!

3. Use a stiffer scrubbing tool to scour the surface of the oven. Repeat process for resistant areas and spots.

4. Buff surfaces dry!

5. Remove grates and scrub those individually in the sink, dry before returning to the oven.

To note, before cleaning your oven check your oven’s cleaning instructions and guidelines.

Skip another drive to the store and make your own holiday decor! Here are a few simple ideas we are trying this year.


Mason Jars For Everything

You can put this decor item just about anywhere. Coffee table, entryway, dining table, porch railings.

What you’ll need:

  • mason jars/stemless wine glass
  • autumn leaves (fake or real)
  • mod podge or light glue & applier
  • Candle/light
  • twine (optional)

How to:

1. Clean your jar/glass.

2. Brush a light layer of your mod podge around the outside of of your jar

3. Gently apply/press on the leaves all around glass. Layer the leaves & don’t worry about it being perfect!

4. Once dry, place your light/candle inside. If you have twine, tie it around the top of the cup for an extra festive addition.


Easy Wheat Bundle

If you’re in a time crunch this DIY wheat bundle is easy but with the most beautiful outcome. A great way to add a harvest feel into your home!

What you’ll need:

  • a cone shape of natural material (wooden, bamboo, recyclable materials)
  • 2 wheat bundles (or natural grass from a field, you can even save/cut ornamental grass from your yard)
  • twine
  • glue gun and/or glue

How to:

1. Separate wheat stems into sizes that best match the size of your cone.

2. Glue the stems onto the cone & continue to layer around. Fill the gaps with smaller wheat stems

3. Trim bottom of wheat so it is even with cone

4. Bind wheat with twine and wrap a ribbon around it for a finishing touch!


Basic But Beautiful Stenciled Tablecloth

If you need a quick way to spruce up your Thanksgiving table and have the kids involved in a fun craft, this is the DIY decor for you!

What you’ll need:

  • fabric paint
  • paint brush
  • your holiday stencil
  • table runner

How to:

1. Wash and iron out table runner

2. Hold your stencil firm where you’d like it with a piece of tape

3. Add paint to a plate, grab your brush and get to stenciling!

4. Be delicate, and wash your brush before adding new stencils

5. Let dry!

Just like you’re eating the Pumpkin Pie

  • 5 drops cinnamon cassia
  • 3 drops nutmeg
  • 3 drops ginger
  • 3 drops clove
  • 2 drops sweet orange
  • 1 drop cardamom

Cozy

This recipe is for when our bellies are full from the Thanksgiving meal and we’re curled up next to the fireplace.

  • 4 drops cypress
  • 3 drops sandalwood
  • 2 drops siberian fir

Thankfulness

What this month is all about!

  • 3 drops coriander
  • 2 drops clove
  • 2 drops cinnamon bark
  • 1 drop ginger
