News Record, STATE Fort Bragg arrested in Two soldiers from Fort Bragg are arrested in what police believe was a racially-motivated murder. The Associated Press FAYETTEVILLE Two Fort Bragg soldiers, whom Army acquaintances described as skinheads, were arrested Thursday in connection with what police believe was a racially-motivated execution of two people. A native of Alamance County, Shoffner was the oldest of the seven children of the late Z. Monroe and Martha L. Clapp Shoffner. A 1929 graduate of N.C. State University who did post-graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, Shoffner spent his career at NCSU in the N.C.

Cooperative Extention Service retiring in 1963 and then serving as Director of Foundations and Development until 1968. Never one to fully retire, he worked tirelessly for his alma mater, church, community and state through numerous civic, religious and University organizations. Investigators also found a semiautomatic pistol believed to be the murder weapon, Bryant said. Police believe the drunken soldiers set out late Wednesday night to find and harass black people.
