Chun-Li Introduction

If you’re looking for an easy-to-learn character, ideal for beginners and people starting to learn about Street Fighter, you should check another page. This Interpol agent features stances, a wild variety of kicks, and very tight windows to chain her attacks.

And that’s not all. Chun-Li is also a charge character, which usually is more difficult for newer players than a regular fighter. Her projectile Kikoken and her Spinning Bird Kick are very essential moves that you shouldn’t leave behind.

Chun-Li Best Tips

Just like Guile, Chun-Li’s projectile is a charge move, which means that you should learn how to be charging most of the time while in battle if you want to use this move. The same thing applies to Spinning Bird Kick (Down Charge, Up + K).

For a more detailed explanation of how charge characters work, please visit our Guile Guide - Move List and Best Tips page.

Chun-Li is a pretty unique character in the sense that she can change her stance with a move called Serenity Stream (QCB + Punch). By doing this, she will sit down, ready to perform a new action when you press any button. Learning how to enter Serenity Stream quickly and in the middle of combos will be key for mastering Chun-Li.

You exit Serenity Stream as soon as you’re attacked or press any attack button.

If you’re looking for a launcher, Tensho Kicks (Down, Down + K) is one of the best Chun-Li has. The OD version adds a bunch of strong extra kicks. However, this move can't be followed with anything else.

What would Chun-Li be without her Hundred Lightning Kicks (QCF + Kick)? This series of fast kicks will be useful on a lot of occasions, like just punishing your opponent or in the middle of a combo, and you can apply variations. For example, Lightning Kick Barrage (Kx2 after an OD Hundred Lightning Kicks) will extend the initial kicks, and you can also do it while in the air.
